We’ve recently been getting a number of requests to make our charm pendants and cufflinks from pictures of clients beloved cats, dogs and even horses! I just wanted to share this as it’s a great idea. Here are some images of a lovely dog, whose images are on a double sided, round china and silver pendant charm.

You can see the last piece on the Personalised Jewellery Diary when we talked about designing your own oak leak or acorn jewellery… but I wanted to just add a picture which I knew I had somewhere (it was on my mobile phone) from when I last visited Emma at the studio.

You can see more amazing images like this at the BBC website but in the meantime look at this one which e+k charms have just made into a precious memento for the scientist who created it. The image has just won an award for scientific imagery which enhances our knowledge and understanding of the world in which we live. This is actually a mouse embryo.
The other side of the picture pendant was the same Cambridge professor’s daughter’s drawing. All the picture pendants at e+k charms are two sided on porcelain, preserved by a special process by the craftsmen at Royal Worcester. The picture pendant was one of many charms made for a necklace, all in sterling silver.
Following the news of Susan Sarandon’s children’s teeth bracelet, it seems that people will make the most extraordinary mementos into bespoke jewellery.
To be fair I have seen a picture of the charm bracelet and it’s not so obvious and it does include gemstones too. So I don’t mind at all but it makes you wonder what else you can have made into jewellery…
Of course you could send your kids’ teeth to e+k charms and they would make it into a silver plated charm (or finished in gold if you wish as a choice).
